There are nearly 1.23 million Medicare beneficiaries in Tennessee, of which 426,921 are enrolled in Medicare Advantage. Another 399,407 have plans that include Part D Prescription drug coverage.

The state has more than 6.6 million people living in 95 counties. Two major insurance carriers cover the majority of Medicare Advantage members. Specifically, Humana has 31 percent of all plans, while Cigna has 22 percent.

Tennessee also offers Special Needs Plans (SNPs) for those qualifying, such as people with specific chronic conditions or living in institutions.
